The beak on the CM307B40 Mouthpiece is of a traditional design.

The B40 mouthpiece is very similar to the standard B45, however it has a slightly wider tip rail, producing a compact and centered sound.  This gives the clarinetist a much wider spectrum of colours and timbre with excellent projection and response.  The mouthpieces has been designed to use softer reeds without sacrificing the sound quality of a stronger reed.
